Welcome to Director's Cut

The original articles are necessarily concise. Here, there is room for the experiments, the conversations, the technical details.

Welcome to Director's Cut

A published article is usually the end of the process. For me, it is increasingly becoming the beginning.

Director’s Cut is where I return to those stories and follow the threads that had to be left behind: the experiments, technical details, arguments, conversations and personal detours that would never fit inside the original.

Some editions will be essays. Some will include produced audio or video. All of them will be researched, written, narrated and produced personally by me.

I write extensively about artificial intelligence, and I use it throughout my working life. But the work published here is not automated content. AI may help me interrogate an idea, solve a technical problem or challenge an assumption; the judgement, writing, performance and final production remain mine.

The first Director’s Cut begins with Domesticating AI.
